BST delivered and installed its locally manufactured StarGate range of wireless products to roll-out WWAN for the eThekwenini (Durban) municipality in Kwazulu Natal.
StarPoint SP-20 Subscriber Stations located at various municipal offices, building and libraries facilitate acces to the eThekwini Municipality private network.
The 2400 square kilometre Wireless Wide Area Network consists of a core backhaul network using StarLink SL-120 equipment to form a redundant wireless network that overlays the current fibre network. The core network connects 25 StarGate SB-120 multi-sector Base Stations that forms the Access Network. The Point-to-Multipoint Access network finally connects to 140 StarGate SG-20 Subscriber Stations with data capacities up to 20Mbps
