Point to Multipoint

A point-to-multipoint link consists of a central access point (AP) which provides connectivity to multiple peripheral subscriber units (SU) around it.

Any transmission of data that originates from the central AP is received by all of the peripheral SUs while any transmission of data that originates from any of the peripheral SUs is only received by the central AP.

Point to Point

A point-to-point link is a dedicated wireless link that connects exactly two communication facilities (e.g. two nodes of a network). BST has a range of microwave wireless point to point links which are used as essential backhaul in wireless LAN / WAN solutions.

The PtP equipment comprises of identical endpoint radios with a range of models that address different user requirements. The PtP radios are available with integrated 23dBi planar antennas or with an option for connecting external antennas. The PtP Radio links are normally configured as layer2 Bridges, but the integrated routing of each radio enables the user to configure the network as a layer3/layer4 transport system that will provide advanced networking architectures such as multiple VLANS and VPNs with enhanced security options. The units operate in the licensed band and license free bands from 900MHz to 6.2 GHz.
